This card, Costly Plunder, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on sacrificing artifacts or creatures for value, such as an Aristocrats deck in Magic: the Gathering. While it provides card advantage by drawing two cards, there are potentially better options like Altar's Reap which only costs 1B and allows you to sacrifice a creature to draw two cards without needing an artifact. However, Costly Plunder could still see play in decks that specifically benefit from sacrificing artifacts as part of their strategy.
