The Ancient One would fit well in a control deck that focuses on filling the graveyard quickly and disrupting the opponent's strategy. However, there are better options like Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Griselbrand that provide more immediate impact and game-ending potential. The Ancient One may not see much play in competitive settings due to its high setup cost and limited payoff compared to other powerful options available.
