This card, Citadel Siege, would benefit a deck that focuses on controlling the board and gaining incremental advantages over time. Decks that aim to build up a strong board presence with creatures would find the Khans mode useful for pumping up their creatures each turn, while decks that want to disrupt their opponent's board would prefer the Dragons mode to tap down key threats. While Citadel Siege is a solid card, there are potentially better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as cards like Gideon, Ally of Zendikar or Elspeth, Sun's Champion for more immediate impact. Each of the last two abilities is linked to the first ability. They each refer only to the choice made as a result of the first ability. If a permanent enters the battlefield as a copy of one of the Sieges, its controller will make a new choice for that Siege. Which ability the copy has won’t depend on the choice made for the original permanent.
