However, in a competitive setting, more versatile and powerful counterspells like Mana Leak or Force of Will may be preferred over Miscalculation due to their broader applications and higher impact on the game. Nonetheless, Miscalculation could still find a place in budget or casual decks where its cycling ability can provide additional card draw options.

Cycling is an activated ability. Effects that interact with activated abilities (such as Stifle or Rings of Brighthearth) will interact with cycling. Effects that interact with spells (such as Remove Soul or Faerie Tauntings) will not.
