A control or tempo deck in Magic: the Gathering would benefit from including Watchful Automaton in their deck, as it provides card selection and helps to set up future draws. While there may be more powerful cards with similar effects, such as Thopter Spy Network or Crystal Ball, Watchful Automaton can still be a useful inclusion in decks looking to maintain card advantage and filter through their library efficiently.
