A deck that benefits from color flexibility and mana acceleration, such as a control deck with a blue-white color combination, would benefit from using Adarkar Wastes. However, there are better options like Hallowed Fountain or Glacial Fortress that provide the same color options without dealing damage to you. Adarkar Wastes may not see as much play in competitive decks due to its drawback, but could be useful in budget or casual decks that need the color fixing.
