Deliberate would be beneficial in a control or tempo deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides card selection and card advantage for a relatively low cost. However, there are better cards such as Opt, which also costs 1 U but allows you to scry 1 and draw a card immediately. Deliberate could see play in decks looking for redundancy or additional card selection, but Opt is generally considered a stronger option due to its immediate card draw.
