Desert Sunlight can be particularly beneficial in a deck that focuses on high-defense monsters or those with effects that activate when they are in Defense Position, such as Stardust Dragon or Giant Soldier of Stone. It can also synergize well with strategies that aim to stall the game or protect life points, especially in control or stall decks. However, there are often better options available, such as Waboku or Threatening Roar, which provide immediate protection without altering the position of your monsters. While Desert Sunlight can have its niche uses, it may not see widespread play due to the availability of more versatile and impactful trap cards in the current metagame.
