However, in more competitive settings, there are likely better options available that offer similar effects with greater efficiency, such as Jace, Vryn's Prodigy or Merfolk Looter, making Drowned Rusalka less optimal for top-tier decks.

Unlike many similar cards, Drowned Rusalka’s ability causes you to discard a card first and then draw a card. If your hand is empty, you will just draw a card.
