A deck that aims to control the opponent's resources or disrupt their game plan would benefit from using Selective Memory in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are better options like Surgical Extraction or Extirpate that provide more immediate and targeted removal of specific cards from the opponent's library or graveyard. Selective Memory may not see much play in competitive decks due to its high mana cost and the availability of more efficient alternatives.
