This card, Shadowy Backstreet, would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on surveil mechanics or requires mana fixing in a white-black color combination. While it provides mana fixing and triggers surveil, there are more efficient lands with similar effects like Godless Shrine or Isolated Chapel that may be better choices for competitive play. However, for a casual surveil-themed deck, Shadowy Backstreet could certainly see play and add some thematic flair to the gameplay.
