Ein Deck, das sich auf aggressive rote Strategien wie Brennen oder Aggro konzentriert, würde aufgrund seiner Flugfähigkeit und dem Potenzial für eine schnelle Taktung mit seiner aktivierten Fähigkeit davon profitieren, Shivan Dragon als Finisher einzubeziehen. In wettbewerbsfähigeren Formaten stehen jedoch häufig bessere Optionen zur Verfügung, z. B. Thundermaw Hellkite oder Glorybringer, die eine unmittelbarere Wirkung oder zusätzlichen Nutzen bieten. Der Shivan-Drache kommt vielleicht nicht in höherstufigen Wettbewerbsdecks zum Einsatz, kann aber dennoch eine unterhaltsame und leistungsstarke Ergänzung in Gelegenheits- oder Budget-Decks sein.
