Containment Protocol is a tempo‑oriented control card that fits best in blue control or tempo decks that want to neutralize a single large threat without permanently removing it, especially in limited or slower, budget environments where locking down one key creature can swing the game. It works in decks that win through flyers, incremental value, or combo, buying time by effectively “freezing” an opposing creature, particularly one without an enters‑the‑battlefield ability or built‑in protection.
