About Scorchmark
Scorchmark, Instant, designed by Jason Felix first released in Jan, 2019 in the set Ravnica Allegiance.
This card, Scorchmark, would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck looking to quickly remove threats on the board. While it provides efficient removal for small to medium-sized creatures, there are potentially better options like Lightning Bolt or Shock that offer more versatility or lower mana cost. However, Scorchmark could still see play in decks focusing on creature removal and direct damage, especially in formats where those other options are not available.

Scorchmark’s replacement effect will exile the target creature if it would die this turn for any reason, not just due to lethal damage. It applies to the target creature even if Scorchmark deals no damage to it (perhaps due to a prevention effect).
