About Aether Sting
Aether Sting, Enchantment, designed by Pete Venters first released in Jun, 1999 in the set Urza's Destiny.
A deck focused on punishing opponents for casting creature spells, such as a control or burn deck, would benefit from including Aether Sting. While Aether Sting can be effective in certain situations, there are potentially better cards like Pyrostatic Pillar or Eidolon of the Great Revel that offer more consistent and impactful damage to opponents for casting spells. Ultimately, the decision to include Aether Sting in a deck would depend on the specific strategy and synergies of the deck it is being considered for.
Rules
10/01/09
The ability triggers when an opponent casts a creature spell, and goes on the stack above that spell. As such, the ability will deal 1 damage to that player before the creature enters the battlefield.
