About Retribution
Retribution, Sorcery, designed by Mark Tedin first released in Oct, 1995 in the set Homelands and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck that focuses on controlling the board and disrupting your opponent's strategy would benefit from including Retribution. While it offers a decent removal option, there are more efficient cards like Lightning Bolt or Terminate that provide immediate removal without the downside of -1/-1 counters. However, in a deck that can capitalize on -1/-1 counters or has synergies with sacrificing creatures, Retribution could find a niche spot in the sideboard for specific matchups.
Rules
08/01/08
The player chooses which one to sacrifice as Retribution resolves. If only one of the targets is still legal at that time, then the player must choose that one to sacrifice.
