A deck that focuses on controlling the board and tempo would benefit from using On Thin Ice, as it provides a way to temporarily remove a threat from the opponent's side of the battlefield. While On Thin Ice is a decent removal option for snow-themed decks in Magic: The Gathering, there are arguably better removal spells available in the format, such as Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares, which offer more permanent solutions to dealing with threats.
