About Ichthyomorphosis
Ichthyomorphosis, Enchantment — aura, designed by Campbell White first released in Jan, 2020 in the set Theros Beyond Death.
This card could be beneficial in a deck that focuses on controlling the opponent's creatures or disrupting their strategy, as turning a powerful creature into a harmless Fish can significantly weaken their board presence. However, there are better options like Imprisoned in the Moon which not only removes abilities but also turns the creature into a land, providing more permanent removal. While Ichthyomorphosis could see situational play, it may not be a top choice in competitive decks due to its limitations compared to more versatile removal options.
Rules
01/24/20
Ichthyomorphosis may enchant a permanent that is only temporarily a creature, such as a Vehicle. If this happens, Ichthyomorphosis will be put into its owner’s graveyard as a state-based action once the creature stops being a creature.
01/24/20
Ichthyomorphosis overwrites all previous effects that set the creature’s base power and toughness to specific values. Any power- or toughness-setting effects that start to apply after Ichthyomorphosis becomes attached to a creature will overwrite this effect.
01/24/20
If the affected creature gains an ability after Ichthyomorphosis becomes attached to it, it will keep that ability.
