Maelstrom Colossus sarebbe un'ottima aggiunta a un mazzo che si concentra sul lancio di incantesimi ad alto costo e sullo sfruttamento dell'abilità a cascata per lanciare potenzialmente incantesimi aggiuntivi gratuitamente. Sebbene possa fornire un potente vantaggio nel mazzo giusto, ci sono altre carte come Maelstrom Wanderer che offrono effetti simili con vantaggi aggiuntivi, rendendole potenzialmente scelte migliori per determinate strategie.
