Fend Off can be beneficial in a white control deck that focuses on stalling the game and protecting key creatures from combat damage. It can be particularly useful against aggressive decks with powerful creatures. However, there are more versatile options like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares that provide permanent creature removal, making Fend Off less optimal in certain situations.
