Een kaartspel dat zich richt op het genereren van grote wezens met een hoog vermogen zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Fling, omdat je hiermee een wezen directe schade kunt toebrengen om een tegenstander af te maken of een problematisch wezen aan te pakken. Er zijn echter betere kaarten zoals Thud die een soortgelijk effect hebben, maar waarvoor geen wezen hoeft te worden opgeofferd, waardoor ze in bepaalde situaties efficiënter worden. Fling kan nog steeds spel zien in decks die manieren hebben om gemakkelijk vervangbare wezens te genereren of die de flexibiliteit willen om schade met onmiddellijke snelheid aan te richten.
