Een kaartspel dat baat heeft bij het gebruik van Grapeshot is een Storm-kaartspel, dat tot doel heeft meerdere spreuken in één beurt uit te spreken om een krachtige reeks kopieën te creëren. Hoewel Grapeshot een belangrijk onderdeel is van Storm-decks vanwege het vermogen om schade aan meerdere doelen aan te richten, zijn er betere kaarten zoals Tendrils of Agony of Empty the Warrens die voor meer impactvolle winvoorwaarden kunnen zorgen. Grapeshot zou het spelen in Storm-decks nog steeds moeten zien als een veelzijdige verwijderingsoptie en een manier om games in bepaalde situaties af te sluiten.
