Een op zwart gebaseerd kerkhofrecursiedek zou baat hebben bij het gebruik van Gravedigger, omdat het het herhaaldelijk ophalen van wezenkaarten mogelijk maakt, wat waarde en kaartvoordeel oplevert. Hoewel Gravedigger een solide optie is vanwege de prijs, zijn er potentieel betere kaarten zoals Phyrexian Reclamation of Eternal Witness die meer flexibiliteit of extra voordelen bieden. Gravedigger kon echter nog steeds spel zien in decks die gericht waren op synergieën op het kerkhof of recursiestrategieën voor wezens.
