Grim Lavamancer, Creature — human wizard, designed by Jim Nelson first released in Feb, 2002 in the set Torment and was printed exactly in 11 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Premodern.
This card would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on dealing direct damage and controlling the board. While Grim Lavamancer is a solid choice for its ability to deal damage consistently, there are other cards like Monastery Swiftspear or Eidolon of the Great Revel that may be more efficient in certain situations. However, Grim Lavamancer can still be a valuable inclusion in decks that can support its graveyard-exiling ability and benefit from its repeatable damage output.

The two cards are exiled as the cost of Grim Lavamancer’s ability is paid. Players can’t respond to the paying of costs by trying to move those cards to another zone.
