Een kaartspel dat sterk afhankelijk is van blauwe instantkaarten voor controle, kaartvoordeel of combostukken zou baat hebben bij het opnemen van Merchant Scroll. Hoewel Merchant Scroll handig kan zijn bij het ophalen van specifieke blauwe instantkaarten, is het misschien niet altijd de meest efficiënte optie vergeleken met meer veelzijdige docenten zoals Mystical Tutor of Personal Tutor.
