Een kaartspel gericht op instant- en toverspreuken, zoals een Izzet-kaartspel met veel spreuken in Magic: the Gathering, zou enorm profiteren van het opnemen van Nivix Cyclops vanwege het vermogen om op te pompen en het wezen in staat te stellen aan te vallen, zelfs met de status van verdediger. In een competitieve omgeving kunnen kaarten als Enigma Drake of Crackling Drake echter als betere opties worden beschouwd vanwege hun extra vaardigheden en potentieel voor grotere stat-boosts, waardoor Nivix Cyclops een meer niche-opname wordt die misschien niet zo vaak wordt gespeeld in decks van een hoger niveau. .
