De Rakdos Guildgate zou profiteren van een kaartspel dat zich richt op zwarte en rode mana-bronnen, zoals een kaartspel met Rakdos-thema in Magic: the Gathering. Hoewel de gildepoort flexibiliteit biedt bij de productie van mana, zijn er betere opties beschikbaar, zoals Blood Crypt, die ongebruikt binnenkomt en met verschillende kaarten kan worden opgehaald. De Rakdos Guildgate zou echter nog steeds spel kunnen zien in budget- of casual decks waarbij de kosten voor het verwerven van meer optimale landen een beperkende factor zijn.
