A deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and aims to quickly overwhelm the opponent would benefit from including Ulamog's Crusher, as its Annihilator ability puts pressure on the opponent by forcing them to sacrifice permanents. However, in competitive play, there are often more efficient and powerful Eldrazi creatures available, such as Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, which can have a greater impact on the game. Ulamog's Crusher could be considered for casual or budget decks, but in more competitive environments, it may not see much play.

If Ulamog’s Crusher can’t attack for any reason (such as becoming tapped or having just entered the battlefield), then it doesn’t attack. If there’s a cost associated with having it attack, its controller isn’t forced to pay that cost, so it doesn’t have to attack in that case either.

Annihilator abilities trigger and resolve during the declare attackers step. The defending player chooses and sacrifices the required number of permanents before they declare blockers. Any creatures sacrificed this way won’t be able to block.
