Introduction
Today, we'll see the top 5 best cards from Dreamlit Paths.
Now that it's been two weeks since this set came out, we finally have an idea of the meta, and we already know what are the best decks around. But what are the best cards?
For this article, I used the data on LoR.GG to see what are the best-performing cards in the last 7 days.
Grotesque Gift
This unit was meant to be something that control decks have severely lacked in the last few metas: an early game unit that can hold off the game. Grotesque Gift does that really well. It locks down your opponent's game plan because it Glooms the next unit they play on the board. This way, they can't put pressure on you with a strong unit.

1-health units, for instance, die on the spot if your opponent summons them after you play a Grotesque Gift on the board.
Unlike deck win rates, unit win rates are always a bit smaller: units with a 50% win rate or higher are considered strong cards.
Bandle City has reinvented itself as a control/combo region, and also as an aggressive region, after Vex and her cards came along. This is because they're extremely consistent, versatile cards that go with practically anything there is in the game.
Here is one of the best lists with Grotesque Gift for the ranked queue:
Vex
This new champion is one of the best cards in the entire game because she combines control and aggressive elements really well.
Her lists originated a new identity for Bandle City. Now, we have Midrange Bandle City lists, which means it is widely diverse as a region, and you can use it to build a great variety of decks. Bandle City has always been a "support" region for other regions, but now, after Dreamlit Paths, it seems like it can finally be the main character in many decks.Vex and her cards are one of the best Bandle City cards right now.
As we said before (and we'll say it again many times still), versatility is key when it's time to increase your win rate. As Vex is perhaps one of the most versatile champions in the meta, it isn't surprising to see her in this list.

Gloomsprites
This card being here might be a surprise to many players, including me. Earlier in this season, I gave an average rating to Gloomsprites because I thought it would be too weak, besides really vulnerable to removals.
However, the meta became extremely favorable for this card's game style, so it became one of the best cards right now. This is because it is the first spark that will create a snowball effect on your board.
As so many aggressive cards rotated to Eternal, LoR needed aggressive archetypes. The truth is that we still have several strong, aggro decks in the meta; they are just a bit different from what we were used to before this rotation came along. The Lulu Jinx list below is an example of an aggro list that still exists in Standard, and it is an old archetype, now revived with new cards.
Ultrasoft Poro
This unit is apparently going by unnoticed by players for a reason that is not quite clear. But numbers don't lie: currently, Ultrasoft Poro is the second best-performing card in Standard's ranked queue.
This card is everything Neeko and Poro lists needed. It is a solid unit with strong stats that heals your Nexus, so it makes up for the early game pressure you might have struggled with on earlier turns. As the early game of these decks isn't that strong, it makes sense this card would perform really well.

However, it's in Warden of the Tribes decks that this card really stands out. This type of deck is literally just a bunch of good cards that have subtypes - together, they form a Midrange list with several synergies and value-focused combos.

Grimm
Without a doubt, this is the best card from Dreamlit Paths. By far.
Grimm thoroughly changes the rhythm of the game because, after he removes any unit with 4 health or less from the enemy board, he is still a great unit. He has 5 attack power, and Fearsome.
The value this card creates on its own is so powerful that he may be the main piece you need to win with any of the decks that bring him.
This card opened the way for Bandle City control decks to start dominating the meta again. Besides this, this card really stands out in Elder Dragon archetypes because he costs 6 mana. This means, in addition to everything we commented above, he also activates a Dragon Boon, which brings even more value to your board.
