However, there are potentially better options such as Rise from the Grave or Animate Dead which can reanimate creatures from any graveyard without the need to sacrifice one of your own. Whether Victimize sees play depends on the specific synergy and strategy of the deck, but it can be a strong choice in the right context.

The creature you sacrifice isn’t chosen until Victimize resolves. You can’t return the creature you sacrifice because it will still be on the battlefield at the time targets are chosen.
