Ancestral Knowledge would be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on manipulating the top of the library and card selection, as it allows for filtering through the top ten cards and setting up future draws. However, there are more efficient options like Brainstorm or Sensei's Divining Top that provide similar effects without the cumulative upkeep cost, making Ancestral Knowledge less likely to see play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.
