About Goblin Spymaster
Goblin Spymaster, Creature — goblin rogue, designed by Wayne Reynolds first released in Nov, 2016 in the set Commander 2016 and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.
A deck focused on aggressive strategies and token generation, such as a red aggro or goblin tribal deck, would benefit from including Goblin Spymaster. However, there are better options available, such as Goblin Rabblemaster, which provides a more consistent and powerful token generation effect. While Goblin Spymaster could be a fun and flavorful addition to a casual deck, it may not see competitive play due to its drawbacks of potentially forcing your own creatures to attack.
Rules
11/08/16
If, during your declare attackers step, a creature you control is tapped or is affected by a spell or ability that says it can’t attack, then it doesn’t attack, even if you control one of Goblin Spymaster’s tokens. If there’s a cost associated with having a creature attack, you aren’t forced to pay that cost, so it doesn’t have to attack in that case either.
