About Fling
Fling, Instant, designed by Paolo Parente first released in Mar, 1998 in the set Stronghold and was printed exactly in 21 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Pauper and Commander. It's a key card in 2 combos.
A deck that focuses on generating large creatures with high power would benefit from using Fling, as it allows you to turn a creature into direct damage to finish off an opponent or deal with a problematic creature. However, there are better cards like Thud that have a similar effect but don't require sacrificing a creature, making them more efficient in certain situations. Fling can still see play in decks that have ways to easily generate expendable creatures or want the flexibility of dealing damage at instant speed.
