A deck that focuses on tribal synergy, such as Elves, Goblins, or Zombies, would benefit greatly from using Return from Extinction as it allows for efficient graveyard recursion of multiple creatures of the same type. While this card can be useful in tribal decks, there are better options available such as Gravedigger or Eternal Witness which offer more flexibility or value. Return from Extinction could see play in casual tribal decks looking for additional recursion options, but competitive decks may opt for more powerful options.

If you choose the second mode, the cards must share at least one creature type, such as Sliver or Warrior. Card types such as artifact, and supertypes such as legendary or snow, aren’t creature types.
